This walk covers sites on other walks and is suitable if you have time for only 1 tour. Please note that entrance to Kashi Vishwanath Temple is NOT included. We can advise you on how to purchase a VIP ticket.

Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes may need to be removed in some temple areas.

Photography is generally allowed, but restricted in some temples.

City of Light Best of Banaras

Walking Tour

Beginning at the Southern edge of Kashi, the City of Light, we explore the temples & sacred sites throughout the old city.

Passing through the traditional winding lanes you will encounter historic temples and sacred sites from South to North.

We walk through the areas of Assi, Kedar, Bengali Tola and pass Kashi Vishwanath, the first of the jyotir lingas, 12 sacred shafts of light in Hindu cosmology (should you want to enter at another time , we can inform you the options).

The walk continues to the primordial waters where life began and completes with an observation of the sacred fire of Shiva at Manikarnika Ghat, the large cremation ground of Varanasi.
